Cohen Larry Cohen grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts, and attended the Brookline public schools. He is a 1981 graduate of Boston College Law School and a 1974 summa cum laude graduate of its undergraduate College. Before entering law school, he earned a Master's Degree in Criminology at the University of Toronto, later working in the Research Division of the Solicitor General of Canada in Ottawa, conducting research and writing in the area of the legal rights and responsibilities of individuals incarcerated in Canadian prisons. Larry has concentrated his practice on the resolution of commercial, employment, and personal disputes, and has gained varied and extensive experience in all courts within the Commonwealth. Additionally, over the course of the last two years, Larry has concentrated much of his practice on marital and probate based litigation, and was also involved in a long standing telecommunications dispute between a major provider of multi-state telephone services and an out of state corporate reseller of those services. His clients range from individuals and small businesses, including other law firms and their members, to corporate clients, either seeking redress before the court, or in need of sound legal advice. Larry takes on pro bono appointments from the Suffolk County Probate Court, the Volunteer Lawyers Project, and the Federal Court Pro Bono Project. He has been a participant in the Boston Municipal Court Pre-Trial Conference Project since its inception and is also a member of the Boston Bar Association's Lawyer Mentor Program. Larry has appeared and tried cases before the state, district, superior, probate and housing courts of the Commonwealth, and the Federal U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts, as well as argued his clients' appeals before the Massachusetts Appeals Court. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations, as well as the American Trial Lawyers Association.
